Josh Ryals, Worship Pastor
(josh@fbcnevada.org)

Josh has been active and involved in church from a very young age. At 9 years he realized he was a hopeless sinner in need of Christ’s grace. Jesus became Josh’s salvation during an outdoor revival in a church parking lot. He was born and grew up in North East Florida and was always involved in music. After graduating from Fernandina Beach High School in ’95, he pursued a music degree with an emphasis in Saxophone performance. After completing 2 years of college, He decided to pursue another field of study. Josh became a Paramedic/Firefighter in Jacksonville, FL. Through his early college days, he learned to play guitar and became more proficient on piano as well as many other instruments. Josh started leading worship at FBC Jacksonville as well as Campus Crusade for Christ and other Christian organizations. In early 2004, while a member at FBC Fernandina Beach, Josh participated in reading “The Purpose Driven Life” along with with the rest of church. Through this bible study the Holy Spirit spoke to him and revealed a life changing revelation.
Upon accepting God’s call to ministry Josh decided to finish his music/theology degree at the Baptist College of Florida; continuing on into full time ministry along with his wife Leah. Leah, his wife, was tragically killed in a single car accident May of 2012. Following this life altering accident, he stepped down from church ministry for a couple of years to heal and focus on being a father to their amazing little boy Jansen. Before following God’s call to FBC Nevada, Josh was serving as a high school bible and music teacher at a christian school in Gainesville, FL. “I have felt overwhelming peace moving to Missouri and have received an abundance of love here at FBC. Though I miss Florida and my family and loved ones there, I have gained a wonderful loving family here in Nevada as well” says Josh. His favorite bible verse is Philippians 4:8 and his favorite worship is any genuine worship that uplifts and praises Christ for his abundant grace, mercy, & love. Josh enjoys playing golf, fishing, running, and eating. God is Good… All the Time!

Jason Blight, Interim Children’s Pastor
(jason@fbcnevada.org)

Jason is the interim Children’s Pastor. His desire is to support and compliment parents as they help their children know Jesus as saviour, love him as a friend, and follow him as King.  He wants kids to know God’s Word in their hearts so that Jesus can constantly be speaking to them throughout the day. Communication is a key to any relationship and it is important for children to be able to hear and talk with God in order to form a real and lasting relationship with Him. Jason met his wife Ashley at FBC Nevada when he was the Youth Pastor. He has enjoyed being a stay at home dad since their first son was born in 2009. They now have 4 boys (Carter, Caleb, Cason, and Carver). Jason loves spending time with his family. He tries to take them on lots of different adventures serving the Lord, and enjoying the wonderful creation that God has made. They go hiking, canoeing, fishing, biking, and camping together. As well as read stories, build with Legos, build puzzles, and play with trains.

Nick Williams, Youth Pastor Interim
(nick@fbcnevada.org)

Nick was saved on July 11th, 1994 at a youth conference in OKC when he was fourteen. He immediately knew the Lord wanted him in ministry and began preaching and running a bus route that summer.  Nick’s family moved to Florida when he was eighteen. It was there that he met his wife, Robyn.  Nick and Robyn married on September 14, 2002 and currently have five children: Gavin (14), Austin (13), and Nathan (11). Their Daughters are Madison (9) and Peyton (6). Nick and Robyn entered full-time ministry six months after their wedding and moved to northern Ohio where Nick served as the Youth Pastor at FBC Spencer.  Since then they have served for more than ten years in different churches as Youth Pastor, Senior’s Pastor, Children’s Pastor, Worship Pastor, RA Director, and Janitor. Most recently Nick has been a Hospice Chaplain for four years prior to moving to Nevada in July. He and his family joined FBC in September and “love the people at this church and in this community.
